Remembering Volunteer Joyce Konkle

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Joyce Konkle’s passing. Joyce was a dedicated volunteer at House of Hope from 2016 until early 2020, when the pandemic forced us to pause our use of volunteers. She wrote about her experience as a childcare volunteer:

“As I became familiar with the kids and they with me, I could see their personalities open up. Some called me Grandma and would come running for a hug when they saw me come in. I admit I was partial to babies. If I could rock and soothe their tears, I was in heaven. Since Covid-19, our volunteering has been temporarily stopped. Every day I miss being there, miss the toddlers and especially the sweet babies.”

You can read Joyce’s obituary or make a gift in memory of Joyce. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested donations to House of Hope. We are grateful that we will be able to honor Joyce’s memory through our life-changing work with families and children experiencing homelessness.

Diaper Green BayJune 20 to July 16, 2022

Diaper Green Bay Starts Monday!

Green Bay Doulas and House of Hope are hosting the 5th annual Diaper Green Bay diaper drive to benefit infants and families in our community experiencing homelessness and housing instability. The drive raises diapers, wipes, funds, and awareness about family and childhood homelessness and the many families in need of clean, dry diapers throughout Green Bay.

Since its inception in 2018, Diaper Green Bay has raised more than 180,000 diapers. The 2022 goal is to collect 50,000 diapers to help families in need in the Green Bay area. Businesses and organizations throughout the community will serve as diaper drop-off locations from June 20 to July 16, 2022.

The final collection event will be held at House of Hope on Saturday, July 16. The public is invited to stop by between 10 am and 2 pm to donate diapers and wipes. Food will be served, and tours of the shelter will be offered.

Please join us in making a difference for babies and their families right here in our community. More information is available online and on Facebook.

Please help by contributing diapers and wipes!

  • Open or partial packages of diapers are acceptable
  • The most needed items are larger diapers (sizes 4-7) and potty-training pants (Pull-Ups) in all sizes
Thank you to our 2022 Diaper Green Bay sponsors!

Golfing for Hope: Nonprofit Course Creators Wanted

Golfing for Hope is a community mini-golf event to raise awareness about local nonprofits. House of Hope and Literacy Green Bay will be hosting Golfing for Hope on September 16 and 17 in Green Bay’s Broadway District! This centralized location will allow us to increase golfer participation and reach more people.

We are looking for nonprofits to join us for free as Course Creators and raise awareness about your organizations. All you need to do it create a mini-golf hole (we'll provide the basics) and have staff available to answer questions during the event. Nonprofits who are not located in the Broadway District will be partnered with a host business. This is a great opportunity to engage the public in your mission and vision!

We have space for 10 more nonprofit organizations to participate! If you are interested, please contact
